Most families end up with a tutor who has never spoken to the therapist, working from the curriculum rather than from any goal, with no view on when to stop. Tutoring here is a component of the plan, not a parallel arrangement.
Where this sits in the five stages
What this actually is.
Sessions cover curriculum content — the subject your child is behind in, or the one they need to hold onto while other work happens. What differs is that the tutor can see the Independence Plan, works to targets that agree with it, and reports into the same file.
Where a child needs structured teaching of an underlying skill rather than more curriculum practice, we will say so. Those are different things and selling one as the other is how families lose two years.

Priced per session where tutoring is standalone, or folded into the monthly programme fee where it is part of a plan. Quoted in writing before the first session either way.

Can we have tutoring without a programme?
Yes. It is available on its own, and if that is genuinely all your child needs we will tell you so rather than routing you into an assessment.
How do you decide between tutoring and structured teaching?
By what is missing. If the underlying skill is not there, more curriculum practice does not build it. If the skill is there and the content has been missed, tutoring is the right and cheaper answer.
Do you follow the school's curriculum?
Yes — British, American, IB or MoE. The tutor works from what your child's class is actually doing, and we ask the school for it directly rather than guessing.
